The client

Family-owned freight transport company based in Valencia with a fleet of 12 articulated trucks. They operate FTL routes on the Mediterranean corridor and to Madrid, with 9 drivers on payroll and three vacancies open since February 2026 following simultaneous departures through early retirement and a competitor hire.

The challenge

CE driver shortage in Valencia province is structural: the three vacancies had been live on job portals for 6 weeks with no valid applicants. The required profile — active CE licence, current CAP, experience with 44-tonne articulated trailers — was not covered by the local market. The company had freight contracts committed for week 15 of 2026; without drivers, they faced breach of terms with two key clients.

The solution — Model A (direct hire)

On 18 March 2026, the company contacted DriversHub via WhatsApp. Within 48 hours, DriversHub presented a dossier of 5 UA profiles from the active pool, all with Temporary Protection (immediate work authorisation via Royal Decree-law 6/2022) and verified experience with articulated trailers. The manager selected 3 profiles after telephone interviews on the 21st. DriversHub handled the DGT homologation of the UA driving licence, Social Security registration, and the employment contract under the Road Transport Collective Agreement (XVII Convenio). All three drivers joined the payroll on 9 April — 22 days from first contact.

The result

Freight contracts for week 15 were fulfilled without incident. All three drivers have permanent contracts. Selection fee: one-time charge per driver, no ongoing monthly fee. The company did not need to run further job adverts or engage a conventional ETT.

"We'd been looking for drivers for two months with nothing. DriversHub sent five profiles in two days. Three drivers onboard in three weeks — we'd never seen that speed."

SS + IRPF + CAP managed

The client

Spanish subsidiary of a German logistics group with operations in Madrid and Barcelona. The company manages distribution platforms for retail chains and operates with 80+ own drivers. HR management is centralised in Munich; the Spanish subsidiary runs with a local team of 4 and lacks the internal capacity to manage the administrative process of hiring non-EU drivers.

The challenge

The German group needed to onboard 12 CE drivers for a new distribution line on the Madrid–Barcelona corridor scheduled for May 2026. Munich had estimated 8 weeks for the process. The problem: the Spanish team had no experience hiring non-EU drivers (Social Security, IRPF withholding, DGT homologation, CAP), and the German legal department required each driver to be registered with Spanish Social Security before getting behind the wheel. A Social Security error in Germany had already generated a €28,000 penalty in 2024.

The solution — Model D (ETT staff-leasing)

Under Model D, the ETT acts as formal employer (temporary employment agency, Act 14/1994): drivers are on the ETT's payroll, which handles Social Security registration, IRPF withholding, CAP renewal, and DGT documentation. The client company pays a monthly fee per active driver and receives a monthly compliance report. For the German group, this eliminated Social Security penalty risk and simplified management for the Spanish HR team. The 12 UA/KZ pool drivers were onboarded in stages between 2 and 12 May 2026, meeting the project schedule.

The result

The new Madrid–Barcelona distribution line launched on schedule. The Spanish HR team went from managing individual payroll for foreign drivers to receiving a single monthly invoice from DriversHub. Zero Social Security penalties in the first 6 months. The German group extended the agreement to 4 additional drivers in month three.

"The Social Security and IRPF part was a big concern after what happened in Germany. With DriversHub everything arrived documented and on time. It was exactly what we needed."

Owner-operator with 2 trucks — Zaragoza

The client

Owner-operator from Zaragoza with two owned articulated trucks. He runs general freight routes between Aragón and Cataluña under a stable load contract with a construction materials company. His team: himself as the main driver and one employed driver he had worked with for three years.

The challenge

On Thursday 4 April 2026, the second driver handed in his resignation with immediate effect for personal reasons. The owner-operator had loads contracted for the following Monday — if he didn't cover the shift that Monday 8 April, his construction materials client would activate the contract penalty clause: €450/day delay. He had no contacts to find a replacement over the weekend. Conventional ETTs he called indicated minimum timelines of 3–4 weeks.

The solution — Model A Express

The owner-operator contacted DriversHub on Friday 5 April at 11:00 via WhatsApp. By 09:30 on Saturday 6 April he had on his phone the dossier of a pre-validated UA driver from the TridentLogistic pool with: active CE licence, current CAP, 4 years of articulated trailer experience, and immediate availability (active Temporary Protection). References from the previous employer in Poland were verified the same Saturday. The employment contract was signed digitally on Sunday 7 April. The driver was in the cab on Monday 8 April at 06:00. The full process, including provisional Social Security registration to start on Monday, took 10 working days to complete with the definitive registration recorded on 15 April.

The result

No penalty clause activated. The load contract with the construction materials client continued without interruption. The UA driver is still in the truck. The owner-operator now has a priority access agreement with DriversHub for pool candidates in case of a future urgent need, at no retention cost.

"On Friday lunchtime I thought I was going to lose the contract. On Saturday I already had the driver. I couldn't believe it."
